If I were old enough to vote, I would totally vote no against the marriage amendment in Minnesota. I believe that everyone should be able to marry the person they love without question. People should be able to treat others equally.
I have seen many "Vote No" signs around my area and it makes me happy, because I know that it will be passed one day.
Every time I drive pass a Vote No sign in someone's yard I say, "I like them. I don't even know who they are but I like them."
One day, I saw a man walking down the street with a "Vote Yes" t-shirt. What do you think my reaction was? Did I freak out? Did I shout at the man?
No. I simply acknowledged the man and went on my way.
I figured, why be mad at someone who has an opinion? Whether it be opposing my opinion or is the same opinion as mine, everyone should have a say. I completely understand that people don't want the amendment to be passed for personal, religious, or other reasons.
I respect that they have an opinion and their own beliefs.
I think it's ridiculous that a man and a woman who have known each other for three months can get married AND divorced in the course of 72 days, but a man and a man (or a woman and woman) can be together for the majority of their lives and not have the right to be married for the rest of their lives.
Again, I completely respect people's opinions, and this is my own. This is why I would vote no against the marriage amendment in the state of Minnesota. I want there to be love everywhere, between everyone. Hopefully one day it's nationwide.
This is amazing and I totally agree.
